God is Good…All the Time
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! (Psalm 107:1-2a, New Living Translation)
Do you have good news to tell? Sure you do! You may not think your story is worth telling, but it is. Someone you encounter today will want to hear what God has done for you. They want to know that God loves people and forgives sin. They want to know that God provides our needs. Most of all, they want to know that they can have peace and assurance in these turbulent and doubtful times.
What can you praise God for? What has God done for you lately? Whatever it is, that is what you are to tell. God wants you to praise him and thank him for all he has done for you. The best way you can thank God is to praise him before others. Let others know that God is the source of your joy. Let them know that God gave you that promotion. Let others know that God equipped you to do the work you are doing. You don’t have to preach them a sermon. In fact, God doesn’t want you to preach a sermon. He simply wants you to give credit where credit is due. Pause before a meal to thank God for the food. Pray with your family each day and thank God that he gave you to each other. And when tragedy strikes, thank God that it isn’t worse than it is. When you give thanks to the Lord, people will take notice. When you give thanks to the Lord, you will be speaking out!
